The guitar revolution
Matias Francino, guitarist and vocalist of the legendary Chilean band Lluvia Funebre, learned to play the guitar at the age of 9. Inspired by guitarists like Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana,
he became more interested in the guitar, but everything changed when he met Black Sabbath and Rainbow.
After some years participating in different projects, and as a guest musician, inspired by artists like Yngwie Malmsteen and Trent Reznor, and mainly by bands like Solitude Aeturnus, Nevermore,
Fear Factory and Paradise Lost he decided to start his own band named Lluvia Funebre.
Between 2006-2010, noted for their live performances, the band had really good results, both abroad (mainly in countries like Brazil) and on the local scene through tours, videos,
and presentations such as opening acts for large bands of various styles.
The band began with a style known as Progressive Thrash and Doom (La Opción Final) and evolved towards Industrial and Groove Metal (Reconstruction of The Mind) where many of the
latter's songs were used for different international metal compilations.
In 2011, the band went inactive indefinitely, when some of the band members took other personal musical projects.
In 2012, Matias Francino launched his solo career, releasing the album "Musica, Poeira e Asfalto," subsequently relaunched in 2013. In 2013, the single
"The Earth Divided" was released via a video promotional clip by Abysmo Films (Kreator, Lacrimosa, Vader, Arch Enemy, Halford among others).
In 2014, the recordings of what would become the second solo album, "Ride To Horizon" began with various guests from leading bands in the South American underground scene.
Of the 12 tracks recorded, only 5 songs were published as an E.P. In 2015 as "The Earth Divided".
In 2015, Francino toured Brazil, performing in various cities including Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, and Rio de Janeiro. He played at different festivals and
recorded for other artists as a guest.
Between 2016 and 2018, the band performed in several festivals, and during those years Lluvia Funebre was back on the scene in different presentations, with openings by
artists such as Dorso, Alejandro Silva Power Cuarteto, Arcangel, Exxocet, Folkheim, among others.
In early 2019, preparations began again for the new album. In the middle of that year, Matias Francino began recording a different type of sounds and musical compositions.
The music was a conceptual and instrumental album at the Formas Acusticas studios.
Matias Francino has always stood out in his music and for being someone who has worked with many artists of different styles, always demonstrating versatility in his way of composing and playing.
